Raise A Glass For A Cause 13

Metro Centers for Community Advocacy (Metro) is a community based, independent non-profit 501(c) (3) social service agency serving victims of domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, stalking and human trafficking. Metro’s services include emergency shelter, transitional shelter, medical advocacy, legal advocacy, individual and group counseling, community education and a 24-hour crisis line. Our services are available in Spanish and Vietnamese. Our mission is to break the cycle of violence and aid survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault and stalking through advocacy, intervention, empowerment, and transformation.

In preparation for our annual fundraiser, “Raise a Glass for a Cause 13”, which will be held on Tuesday, October 27th, we are seeking sponsorships in various denominations, ($500, $1,000, $2,000) for the food and donations of gift baskets, gift certificates, gift cards, wine baskets, etc…. for our raffle. The funds raised through our fundraiser will support free and confidential services provided by metro for survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, and stalking. We appreciate any assistance you can provide us with our fundraiser. It is through the generosity of community members like yourself that we can accomplish our mission of breaking the cycle of violence and aiding survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault and stalking through advocacy, empowerment, intervention, and transformation.

In addition to the above services, Metro is proud of being one of the very few domestic violence shelters that are pet friendly. Sadly, only 19% of domestic violence shelters in the U.S. will accommodate pets. For a lot of survivors, that is the difference between leaving an abusive situation or staying because there’s nowhere safe for their pet to go. Metro welcomes their pet with a safe place with their owner, food and veterinary care if needed which includes flea and heartworm preventatives.
