Did you know that 35.9% of Louisiana women and 35.4% of Louisiana men experience domestic violence in their lifetimes? In recognition of Domestic Violence Awareness Month, Women United is hosting a panel discussion with local experts to discuss how to recognize signs of an abusive relationship, resources available to victims, and tips on effective advocacy.

Panelists include:

  • Anita Raj, PhD, MS, Executive Director of the Newcomb Institute and the Nancy Reeves Dreux Endowed Chair in the School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine
  • Margaret E. Martin, JD, Clery Act Coordinator, Tulane University Police Department, Tulane University
  • Mark Medina, Education and Outreach Coordinator, Metro Centers for Community Advocacy
